Point Reyes
If you’re looking for a reason why we must save our oceans and open spaces, may I suggest Point Reyes National Seashore? Tule elk graze on bluffs above the rocky shore, wildflowers brighten even the scrubbiest windswept terrain, and if you believe in God you’ll surely feel you’ve been granted privileged admission to one of her personal favorite stomping grounds (to which my photos don’t begin to do justice).
Let’s just say it was a pretty fantastic day, and a welcome change after a few hefty days of oven-building (more about that later). I had fed my sourdough starter before I left the house, and when I got back it was ready to start becoming the dough for a blackberry and plum tart…(to be continued)
Very cool, of course NYC in summer is just a concrete sweat box, and I have no oven like what yours looks like!

Jeremy, I love New York but the last two times I’ve been there have been the coldest day of the year (February) and the hottest (July). I’m shooting for, say, September next time. I hope you get some time off to escape the heat!

I think there is a hostel on Point Reyes…I know what I’ll be doing for a couple weeks after graduation.
mike d, yes, there is a hostel. I think you will not be disappointed! The fox was not quite as close as the photo suggests — I zoomed in quite a bit with my camera.
