Jeff, these are actually the preshaping for what eventually became batards of a seeded multigrain bread, much like these:
If you haven’t tried this, do; it’s one of my favorites.

I’ve got so enamored with the picture of these lovely boules that I had to bake this bread tout de suite in my own kitchen. I blogged about it here on Majology http://majology.mymaj.net/food/bread/ive-been-baking-a-storm/. You’re absolutely right. The bread became our favourite instantly. I plan to submit it to Yeastspotting – hope this will be acceptable. Thank you for the formula – as always, your fantastic write-ups make the baking easy and so very relaxing. I love Wild Yeast!!!
